Mickey Carr - Up Close

Mickey Carr has spent over 45 years in the entertainment business

as a musician and a soloist/group harmony singer. Starting as a studio guitar player,

Mickey worked many of the studios in Muscle Shoals and Nashville.

He took a small break from this to tour with a national act in the mid-60’s and returned to the recording studios.

Back in the Pittsburgh area, he formed a show band, Mickey Carr and The Good Time Company

that played dates throughout the east coast. At the same time, he was part of a contingent of musicians

that were regular players for the Holiday House.

In 1980, Mickey formed the nationally known gospel group, Sweet Surrender.

During the five years of existence, Sweet Surrender produced two albums with a cut charting on Billboard.

Mickey went on to be one of the founding members of The Front Page, doo-wop and oldies recording artist.
